There was a visionary who thought it robbery not to give unto those who were impoverished. Our father, James Brown, the godfather of soul was that visionary. His musical legacy is celebrated all over the world. Our focus here at The James Brown Family Foundation, Inc. is on his legacy of giving.
For many years now, we have continued to build upon our father's legacy of giving in many communities around the country. The James Brown Family Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2007 for charitable and educational purposes.
Our collective mission is to continue our father's legacy of charitable giving. His main goal was to bring hope to those who are less fortunate.
Through The James Brown Family Foundation, our commission is to expand James Brown's vision by touching those here at home and around the world to assist underprivileged children and impoverished families through our initiatives and projects.

Ms. Sharon Jones was a strong advocate of music education for students — THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS!
Every once in a blue moon, you meet someone who truly feels like family even when they are not. Sharon Jones was that person to the James Brown Family Foundation and James Brown referred to her as “daughter”. Ms. Jones welcomed the James Brown Academy of Musik Pupils on stage as her opener
last February at The Bell Auditorium in Augusta, GA, on the heels of their performance at the Grammy Museum. Sharon Jones was very, very dear to us and she will be sorely, sorely missed.
